The Indian government launched the Red Ribbon Club program in schools and universities to encourage students to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS. It aims to inculcate in all students a sense of empathy and encouragethem to contribute to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and regular voluntary blood donation to support those in need.The Red Ribbon Foundation was established in 1993 with the primary goal of educating people about the need to prevent HIV, AIDS etc.
The goal of the Red Ribbon Club at the College of Applied Science Adoor is to empower young people by providing accurate information about HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support, and treatment. It also seeks to increase youth voluntary blood donation and strengthen their capacities as peer educators by disseminating messages on healthy behavior in a supportive atmosphere.Through various educational programs and activities, the Red Ribbon Club endeavors to combat the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS and empower young individuals to contribute positively to their communities.
